The Why
It takes courage and vulnerability to write what is in your heart. But it takes risk and funds to publish that work for all to read. Thank goodness we had just enough of both to get started with our first published work!
The What
Following the publication of "I Have Two Mommies. I Have Two Daddies", our company currently producing 3 more books to add to our line of Nice Matters Publishing.
Meet The Author
Stephy R. Salazar starting writing and illustrating books as early as the second grade, although when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would have told you that she wanted to be an actress...or a nurse...or a teacher...or an investor.
Mrs. Salazar tried her hand at several jobs after high school and college to unveil her passion, but it wasn't until her 35th year, that she wrote her first children's book; I Have Two Mommies, I Have Two Daddies. She knew she was destined to write, because it felt right, and she had a hard time not speaking in rhyme since. She discovered something she was truly passionate about. This was her way to make a lasting impact "on our youth and the kid in all of us." "The concept came to me in-between dream states in the middle of the night. I wrote the manuscript in 20 minutes while waiting in the car...the words just poured out of me like I was channeling a young child, telling stories about her beautiful, loving parents. It was an enlightening and joyful experience. I knew I had to create this work visually and share it with as many people as I possibly could." Mrs. Salazar earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Entrepreneurship from Fresno State as a magna cum laude in 2011. She currently lives in the Central Valley of California and when she isn't creating, she is getting out in nature with her husband Joe and Spider Kitty. |
